Kristi Johnson & Jay Perret
Lowdown Farm is a Certified Organic family farm owned and operated by Kristi Johnson and Jay Perret. We are located in the Moiese Valley on the Flathead Indian Reservation, about 50 miles north of Missoula. We specialize in growing a variety of mixed vegetables and herbs, including tomatoes, basil, sweet corn, kale, chard, chives, snap peas, eggplant, peppers, onions, garlic, cabbage, lettuce, and winter squash. We also run a small Black Angus cattle herd. Almost all of our produce is sold through the Western Montana Grower’s Cooperative.
We’ve been in business since 2008, and as a relatively new farm are still learning what crops work best for our climate, soil, and markets. Our vision, a work in progress, is to provide healthy food for our region while also taking good care of this small piece of land we call home.
